Tour Our Farmhouse Bathroom Renovation

Welcome to the blog! I’m so excited for you to tour our farmhouse bathroom renovation we completed in our old farmhouse that we sold last spring.

This project was fun because we really didn’t have a budget, and had to think outside the box for many different aspects of the reno!

Tour Our Farmhouse Bathroom Renovation Below

I included lots of pictures for you to tour our farmhouse bathroom renovation and soak up all of its budget friendly goodness. I thoroughly enjoy working with budgets. The smaller the budget, the bigger the challenge.

And I love challenges. Check it out below and let me know what you think!

It was a tight fit, but the cabinet works for the space! – A Lovely Place Called Home

I spent a lot of time trying to find the perfect piece for the bathroom storage cabinet. It needed to show that our bathroom did indeed have plenty of storage for not only bathroom necessities, but laundry room necessities as well.

I tried for months to find an antique piece that would fit the space. I knew I needed cabinets and glass paned shelving. It was one of those visions I got stuck in my head so I had to have it just so.

Unfortunately I ran out of time to find an antique that was in my budget and I settled for one of IKEAs higher lines of cabinetry. It is real wood and very heavy and sturdy.

I’m not a huge fan of decorating a space with a bunch of IKEA pieces but I really am liking this one, it was a good compromise!

Utilities don’t have to be ugly!

I miss this machine! Or maybe it’s that I live off grid and don’t have a washing set up, so I’m forced to do laundry outside of the home…

Either way, this was a good machine. And so beautiful! I would always get compliments on it!

We decided to keep the tub insert from the old bathroom and re use it to save money. It was tricky to make it fit with the new design but we made it work!

This vanity is what brings this bathroom to life

The antique vanity is by far my favourite part about this entire renovation! It cost me $100 but it was worth it for the amount of character it brings to the space.

I replaced the old wooden knobs with these ones that I found new in their package at a second hand store. I believe they cost under $10 for all.

I scored all of the wall tile and floor tile for $280! The floor tile was found on Kijiji and the wall tile was from a local buy and sell page on facebook.

If I had the luxury I would’ve went with different tile. But half the fun of a budget friendly reno is excelling with limitations. These tiles work great for the space and were easy to install since they are larger.

Frosted window was a must – A Lovely Place Called Home

We kept the window where it was when we started the reno because moving it was too much hassle for the budget. But I wasn’t disappointed, I LOVE windows in showers!

Adding the frosting made it impossible to see inside no matter what time of day it was.

How we leveled up this room with a simple DIY

This wainscotting wall is beautiful! I just love looking at it.

This wall was born from a need to cover up A LOT of holes and missing chunks that were covering this wall. And since my husband hates sanding drywall, (have you ever done it? Messiest. Thing. Ever.) I tried thinking of a different solution.

We had enough extra drywall from redoing the ceiling to cover the top portion of the wall so I rolled with it. We fixed up the top portion and just left the unfixed yucky portion untouched!

It was so easy and it really levels up this bathroom. The wainscotting surrounds all three walls.

Lots of new pot lights were installed to bring the space alive. Two different switches control them; one switch for the main part and one switch for the shower and vanity.

Hi there! What a lovely, clean, sparkling new bathroom! It is inspiring. We’ve got a main bathroom that REALLY needs a ceiling-to-floor remodel, but i’ve been dragging my feet on it. These pictures give me a little motivation to get at it! Well done!
